The Arch Rival Roller Girls from St. Louis, came up to guest coach at one of our Saturday practices and we were very excited to have them.
At the practice, Romo, pretty much lead the discussion/explanation of our drills and what they were for. We practiced plow stops within packs, plow stops in blocking (this was VERY helpful and we picked it up fast later when we bouted against the AARG's), plow stops in the outside line while communicating the coverage on the inside line, and how imperative this was.
While bouting, we we able to block much more efficiently while implementing the tactics earlier shown by our AARG guests. Ginny Beastly, is short in stature but can really get her booty in there to slow others down to prevent them from passing when employing their blocking procedures.
At the BBQ we pretty much ate, drank, and obsessed about wheels, trucks, and more blocking strategies. Romo did mention that AARG is organizing a clinic for thier junior leagues and will have us down soon!!!
We were very excited to have them and can't wait to practice together again.
